2022: A day in my life

I throw my pillow across the room. 'Turn the music off!' A loud guitar sneer comes from downstairs. When I turn around and touch my iPhone 9, a screen pops up, 11:30.
'It's half 11 get out of bed.' Joe jumps up the stairs and peaks in to my room. 'What're you still doing in bed?' I wave the screen away and turn around.
'I have a week of, I needed sleep.' I slowly sit up, the sun peaking through the curtains. I just came back from a month trip to Scotland for some filming, my first big job as a assistant director. A new tv show for HBO which I can't say the name of. The only thing I can say is that it's medieval-fantasy show, but very different from Game of Thrones, which ended 3 years ago.
'I can see that. Do you want to go out for lunch?' I nod and slowly get up. I walk into the next door walk-in closet and put on my dressing gown. I managed to get one of the two spare rooms into a walk-in closet. As long as the other room could be used for gaming and Joe's guitar. We moved in about two years ago, the two floored apartment outside the center of London seemed perfect. The music turned on again, I walk down the stairs while taking a quick look in the mirror. My hair is insanely curly, like it always is in  the morning.
'You do remember that there's a couple of friends coming over in 2 days right?'
'What?' I walk in to the room and turn the music down. Joe looks at me. 'What did you do that for?'
'I said.. You do remember my friends coming over in two days right?'
'Yes, I do.' I smile and walk in to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast, we really need to do some cleaning. My laptop is opened on the little bar we have in the kitchen, I must've left it there the day before. I gently touch the screen, my blog pops up. I hadn't been blogging for a week until yesterday. My blog is still the same as a few years ago, personal and about the things I like. Quickly I scroll through the comments, these are still such a joy to read.
'Did you hear that the first flying car has been sold last week?' With the music still on Joe walks in to the kitchen. 'It was all over the news, think the bloody thing must've cost more than a million pounds.' I laugh while I get some toast from the cupboard.
'I heard yes, weird right? I can't imagine myself flying around.. Or wait maybe I can.' That would be pretty cool tho, just going anywhere where ever you want. Would there be rush hour in air then?
'When is your next trip?' Joe asks curiously, he doesn't like me going of all the time as he has a job at Sky Sports editing and doesn't get send on trips that often.
'In a week and a half..' I take a bite of the egg I just finished. 'But after that I'm probably done for a while.'

The Google glaces are reality, and more and more people drive on electricity instead of gas. And all though the world is still not a perfect place, technology keeps on ricing and ricing. The economy is finally getting on it's feet again and there finally seems to be a breakthrough to medicines for cancer. And obviously.. I dream on and on!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Do you already have plans or dreams for the future?
For me this is just something I wanted to give a shot, it was definitely fun to write. It doesn't say it will happen this way, but at the moment I'd like it to do so. Should I give this another shot in a totally different way?

  10. Wat leuk geschreven, het zou me inderdaad niet verbazen dat er over enkele jaren een vliegende auto op de markt is (voor de rijken onder ons dan, dat dan weer wel)!
