Rock Werchter

Sorry for not blogging in a few days. But my boyfriend is here at the moment and I want to spend every minute I can with him. As I only see him once a month. But there will be no blogging until Monday. As I'll be on Rock Werchter the entire weekend. I'm absolutely excited, especially about Mumford & Sons, Pearl Jam and hanging out with all my friends and boyfriend.
Have a lovely weekend all of you, and I'll see you on Monday!

This, that and a bit more.

- Did you know that I currently added a new page, music, and changed my about page.
- I don't have holiday yet because I've to redo a test.
- I'm absolutely excited about my boyfriend coming over from London this Tuesday.
- I would love to learn how to sow and make my own cosplay costumes.
- I'm the queen of procrastinating. Especially at the moment.
- I can't wait to see the Dark Knight Rises which will release next month.
- Did you know that I've been a Twilight fan for quite a while (not that much anymore) but will still watch the last movie in the cinema?
- I think I don't read enough at the moment, and hate that I don't have enough time to do that right now.
- I would love to have a pair of Jeffrey Campbells shoes, preferably the black ones with studs on it. Oh and a pair of these please.
- I'm one of the organizers of the Dutch Supernatural Fans group. And love to be a part of it, fandom is such a great way to meet amazing people.
- Confession: When I was 13 years old, Daniel Radcliffe was my celeb crush.

That's it for today!

Crush #1: Emma Stone

Emma Stone, I hope you guys heard about her already. One of my absolute girlcrushes at the moment. I absolutely love her geekyness and smile. Easy A was the first movie I saw of hers, and I must have watched it about 5 times already. It's hilarious! All though I prefer her as a redhead, she still look wonderful as a blondy as well.
Her and Andrew Garfield are the cutest couple ever. And all though I wasn't to excited about the Amazing Spiderman, I am now!

Check out the other movies she's in: Emma Stone iMDb

You shook me all night long

It's time for a music post. I listen to a lot of different music genres. Some of my classmates asked me what I genres I mainly listened to, I asked them to guess. The first thing they said was metal. I think I was wearing my Metellica t-shirt that day, but thought it was rather funny. I do listen to metal but I told them there's a lot of country, rock, pop and acoustic music in my playlist as well.
But the genre I'm most into right now would definitely be rock. And yes then I mean old school rock, so talk Kansas, Queen, AC/DC, Nirvana, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon and Black Sabbath. To name a few of my favorites. I would've loved to see those bands in the 1980's, at their best times. But unfortunately I was born in 1991..
I wouldn't say that I'm not into rock bands which are around now, I love the Pretty Reckless, Foo Fighters, Muse and Switchfoot, to name a few. But the old rock is harder, louder and most of all rough. I like the sound of the electric guitars and the pureness of the tracks. It sounds more real as there wasn't that much software to edit music yet.

Other rock songs you should definitely listen to?
AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
Foreigner - Hot Blooded
REO Speedwagon - Back On The Road Again
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Kansas - Carry On My Wayward Son
Aerosmith - Back in the Saddle
Scorpions - No One Like You

DIY: Pimp your stuff

I had a very creative day. I was planning on pimping up some of some of my stuff for a while now. But that it would turn into to this..

1. Studded blouse
I ordered studs last Monday, they got in yesterday and as I couldn't wait to try. I got one of my denim blouses and decided to put the studs on the collar. I think it's looks amazing and gives a little edge to your look. It's very simple to do but very cool to look at.

2. Re-cut your t-shirts
Band t-shirts never look fantastic, they hava a high neck and no fit. So that's why I decided to get these and cut the sleeves of or make the neck a bit bigger. With the easiest cut you completely change the t-shirt. And for me those feel way more comfortable.

3. Peter Pan collar
You've probably seen someone walk around with one of those. But I decided to make one myself. With my new studs and a small piece, white fabric and of course a small black robe to tie it together. This is another very easy thing to make.

Summer is coming

Finally. I finished up my last big project and now I have to wait until evaluation time. A bit of time to rest because the last few days were crazy and super busy. Deadlines at the end of the year are always the worst. But that leaves me thinking about SUMMER. Because it's finally almost there, and there are definitely some things I really want to do summer of 2012 next to my travel plans. So here I go.

LEARN HOW TO PLAY GUITAR
Another thing I've been wanting to do is learn how to play guitar. I've already been practicing for a bit but didn't have time for it that much yet. I figured that I'm a lefty (which is not a surprise because I'm left handed as well) so I need to turn the guitar the other way around. I'll try to continue playing and hopefully I'll be able to play some songs at the end of the holiday.

CLEAN AND CHANGE MY ROOM
My room is full. Every corner is filled with either shoes or DVD's. And because my tiny bed has to go and make room for a double bed I need to make some changes. Throw a lot of unnecessary stuff away and try to get some space. I actually really looking forward to this.

MAKE PREPARATIONS FOR GRADUATION
It still seems so far away but next year this time I'm probably graduating from college. I'll be finishing up my last year Communication & Media Design. And because I really want to go back to London and do another internship there. I need to get started early, I fell in love with the city (and a guy) and the urge to go back has been bigger then ever. My parents are right behind me and, luckily, totally support me.

LEARN HOW TO SOW
I can knit, but sowing. That's something I can't do. As I started to try and make my own costumes for conventions and fantasy fairs I've been eager to learn how to sow. So if I've got some time left. I might try and ask my mom if she can explain some beginners lessons.
I already did order some studds to pimp up some shoes, blouses and cardigans. Plus I'm gonna cut some of my band t-shirt apart to make them more special. So stay tuned for DIY stuff, because I'll definitely share.

READ A LOT OF BOOKS
As every I do every summer I plan on reading a lot of books. Because of school and social life I only get to read about one book a month. But in the summer I always tend to read a lot. And what's on my book shelve to read? All the Song of Ice and Fire books after Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin, the Lord of the Rings books by J.R.R. Tolkien, Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. I'm entirely sure I won't finish all of them but there's at least I've got something to chose.

SAVE MONEY
Well I don't really need to explain this one, do I?

At the end of summer I'll let you all now if I succeeded.
To be continued.

Inspiration: Studds & Leather

I've been looking for my personal style of fashion for quite a long time. Since the age of 15 I started to get more interested in 'how to dress' and tried a bit of everything. I've never been the casual girl, I wanted to wear clothes who'd stand out. (and that wasn't always in a good way) How I would describe my style now? Rock & nerdy. I've worn a lot of black (including dying my fringe and the tops of my hair black), hippy colorful, skater-ish but now I found the style I really like and feel comfortable in. Band t-shirts, high waisted shorts, hats, galaxy tops and studs, yes a lot of studs. I like to combine this with a nerdy, geeky influence. Game of Thrones t-shirts, Converse, colorful trousers and Batman bracelets.

I like experimenting with my style. And especially hair, in 2 years time I went from brown, long and curly to pixie, red and super short. But the rock lifestyle? No, I love AC/DC, Metellica and Foreigner but I get really happy when you play some Taylor Swift, Lights and Owl City as well. But we'll get back on music later!

So... Blogging

After entirely cleaning, re-designing and re-thinking my blog. I decided to start again. That's right, my ever failing blog attempts is blown in to a new life. And as a fashion blog didn't really seem to work, I'm gonna try an inspiration blog. Posts about my life, events, fashion, architecture, photography and design. And yes I'm planning on making categories and keeping my blog nice and clean.

The weird thing is, that I always seem to come up with "restarting" my blog while I'm super busy and in the middle of a lot of school work. Well here I am again, preparing for a test, working on a project and totally stressing out. And yes, a blog seems to be a perfect way to write your worries away. All though that doesn't always seem to help. I decided to continue writing in English as this has become my second language. I might use it as often as I speak Dutch (which is my native language).
I'll try to post at least three posts a week. As there are a couple of holidays coming up, I'm not sure if this is this will happen. But I'm eager to try. Of course if you have some suggestions, feel welcome to add those in the comments.

I like sharing things I do, things I make and things I live. I hope you'll join me on this journey.

Bye and see you very soon!
